Opener of Hunting Season 2010

Brock and Bryson with their shotguns
Brock, Bryson and I got up at 6am on Sat, Sept 4th and headed to Jeff and Kelli's for breakfast. There we met Kevin, Rusty, Jamie and Dawson. After a awesome breakfast, we headed to th 84 acre milo filed on level route. After a brief hunt there with no kills, we continued to a few different locations trying to find something flying. We ended up in Ed Pickards bottom south of Jeff's house to try to call a few crows into shotgun range. Apparently the odds were not in our favor.

We returned to Kelli's house and got full on some great BBQ.

That evening the boys and I along with Pops(Ronnie) and Jessica went to a place Jeff Mcdowell has. There were stories told about a few men killing a limit of birds in the exact location just 24 hours earlier, but we neither found and birds flying, or evidence of the slaughter we heard about!

Trying to finish the days hunt with some kills, we headed back to the 84 acres on level route. There Brock and Bryson got to shoot their shotguns at a few passing birds, but to no avail. Bryson did connect on a skillet shot on a single dove landing at the mojo. He winged it with this 410 and I knocked it down to complete the kill. He was excited to say the least.

After the long day hunting on Sat Sept 4th
Sunday evening was spent on the pool at level route shooting at dragon flies and turtles. Brock was shooting the over/under 20gauge that Pops bought and Bryson was shooting the 410 single shot the daddy bought for me when I was 7.

This weekend was a huge success for me because I spent it with my boys. I hope they enjoyed it as much as I did!
