Deer camp was a strong tradition in the Braley Family when I was younger. As the brothers got older, the traditions slowly faded away. Holler hunting is something my boys will never experience, as is brush runnin, and trapping. Daddy, Uncle Johnny and Uncle Joe would take vacation during the Christmas holidays and we would play all week! I loved that time in my life, and I want my boys to have the same fond memories when they are raising their kids.
Kevin has talked to uncle Johnny and received his blessing to move the old bunk house wherever we want. There is a spot on Jeff's land where he camped as a kid under two HUGE oak trees. We are gonna get have to do some work but deer camp will resume in 2012!
